Touch up chrome plating?

Hi gang.

Question: what are people using to touch up chrome plating on stock chrome parts, such as mirrors, bumpers etc. Despite how hard I try to clip them from the trees and discretely sand it, there is inevitably a small white bit showing through. This bugs the heck out of me. Any tips that don't require stripping the entire part and repainting?
