The 1961 Ford Falcon is done!

A while ago I mentioned that I wanted to build a red 1961 Ford Falcon (with a V-8) for my Mom, so here it is.  Although I said I was starting several months ago, all building, painting, etc. seen here was done in a little less than 14 straight days.  This was also my first time ever working with resin.

The Body and interior tub is a Bandit Resins set, the engine is that 289 out of the AMT '66 Mustang and the dash, chassis, front grill, bumpers, lights, etc are out of a 1961 Falcon Ranchero.  I had originally planned to use the Mustang Chassis, but the Ranchero Chassis fit pretty well (after sawing 1/3 of an inch off the back), so I went with that.  So with no further adieu, here it is:

The chrome window trim is BMF, and the Falcon logos were picked out by using a sharpened toothpick and some testors chrome silver.

Above is a good view of the detail painting I used on the trunk lid emblems.

One thing I really like about these cars is that they are so seldom built.  On the whole internet, I found 2 1/25 complete Falcons.  Both were wild customs.  Makes me feel kind of special...

Feel free to ask any questions about the car!
